Four Fresh Home Decor Ideas for Bringing Spring Inside!
It has been a cold, grey, and dreary winter here in the UK. While this is fairly normal, is it just me or has it been particularly drab? I have been thinking (edit: dreaming) about spring a lot and know while I can’t control the weather outside, I can control what goes on inside my house. So I have been adding little bits of Spring here and there and looking for lots of Spring inspiration.
Spring is a season for refreshing our homes and adding little pockets of prettyness where we can. Here are some of my ideas for ways to bring Spring inside your home, before winter is even gone!
Floral Cushions
A few floral finds here!
Swapping out cushion covers is an easy and budget friendly way to change up your decor for the seasons. Just change up the cover, not the inside.
For spring, a light floral patterned or pale earth toned cushion cover is the perfect way to bring that Spring lightness inside. Layering in lighter fabrics like Muslin Cotton or Pure Linen is a great way to add texture to decor too.
2. Potted Plants
Bring the outdoors in by introducing a few planted pots with plants or herbs. Not only is this a lovely way to bring nature inside, but it also adds greenery and a beautiful fresh scent to the home.
Another option is to plant indoor bulbs bring your garden indoors. Use a decorative bowl or pot, fill with a layer of potting mix, add some bulbs, and then fill with another layer of mix so the bulb tips can still be seen. Set in a warm place and keep it watered for the bulbs to bloom in time!
Using terracotta or other earthenware as pottery is the perfect opportunity for an added decor layer, perhaps as a table centrepiece or in front of a window.

My pair of botanical prints in my loo-tility- a flea market find!
3. Botanical Prints
Keep on the lookout for floral prints that can be framed- these aren’t just paintings or pieces of art- they might be vintage finds, leftover wallpaper samples, printouts from google images, etc. I love that in the thick of winter there is a reminder of spring and summer in my home at all times!
4. Spring Scents
Our sense of smell can really change how we feel when we are in a space. It shouldn’t be something we forget about when we are decorating!
Simply burning some floral scented candles or using a floral scented laundry detergent can make a room feel more fresh.
My favourite laundry detergent is Fairy Non-Bio Platinum with Silk Tree Blossom and Jasmine. It smells subtly floral. I use this to wash all my bedding and slipcovers.
